Lisa specialises in all areas of family law including divorce and separation, disputes involving children including problems when one parent wants to take children to live abroad, financial matters on separation, cohabitation and protecting yourself from domestic abuse.
Lisa really does prefer to resolve disputes in a non-confrontational way. She is a member of Resolution, an organisation for family lawyers whose code of practice encompasses the belief that family law disputes should be dealt with in a constructive way designed to preserve people’s dignity and to encourage agreements.
In a moment of genius or insanity (we’re not sure which but it’s a fine line) Lisa has signed up to endure an 11-day trek for charity through the foothills of the Himalayas in November 2016. The training has begun already but so far Lisa really, really isn’t enjoying it.
If her training is anything to go by, it is likely that the trek will involve a fair amount of futile swearing.
An escapee from Essex, Lisa brought ineffective-but-enthusiastic-arm-waving (unhelpful), a high intellect and low formality to Picasso Legal (a perfect combination) and the volume of laugh that can burst eardrums in the room next door (ask Bob, the building manager: he knows).
Lisa chose to test her skills and expertise through a rigorous assessment of her knowledge, abilities and way that she works with clients and other people.
It was an eight-week process which culminated in a weekend crammed with questions, answers, too much coffee and notepaper everywhere!
And it was all worth it. Lisa has proven she knows her family law and earned particular specialisms in domestic abuse and issues regarding children.
We at Picasso Legal all believed she knew her stuff already but everybody loves to get a certificate!

Went to see Lisa on the recommendation of a friend who I had asked for advice on finding a solicitor that would help me navigate an amicable divorce. I met with Lisa at the start of the process and carried on working with her for the entirety of the divorce which took around 15 months from start to finish. I met with Lisa, spoke to her on the phone and communicated via email. I found Lisa to be utterly pragmatic, honest and clear, professional and skilled, fair and compassionate. I have since recommended Lisa to a handful of other people who have found themselves facing separation and I would not hesitate to recommend Lisa should you be looking for a solicitor who wants to work with you to get a fair and reasonable outcome in a fair and reasonable way.
